After a hard, long, and rough month of my life, I decided I was going to stay home from church and have some one-on-one time with God and my Bible instead of going to my normal Bible study. I needed to talk with Him personally and not talk with others. I needed to hear from Him and what He had to say and not necessarily what others thought they should say to me. So, I opened the Bible to spend some time with God. It was at that moment I came across a scripture passage that spoke to me.
Jeremiah 1:17-19 (NLT) says, “Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them, or I will make you look foolish in front of them. For see, today I have made you strong like a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall. You will stand against the whole land — the kings, officials, priests, and people of Judah. They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
In case you are at a time in your life where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, intimidated, or confused, turn to God so that you can move forward. If you don’t focus on God, you will look at circumstances around you and drown. Every moment I felt stuck, I ran to God. Every moment I was overwhelmed, I cried out to Him. Every moment I felt intimidated, I asked if I needed to act, react, or to be still. Every moment I was confused, I searched for Him with a pure heart and asked He would show me if my motives weren’t right and pure.
Search for God and you will find Him if you search for Him with your whole heart. God is there even when you can’t see Him. I was reminded of this tonight as I looked outside my window and saw the full moon. The moon is always there, it’s technically always a full moon, we just can’t always see it in its fullness based on our perspective. You might not see God fighting for you because other things are clouding the view, but He’s there, and because He’s there, it’s time to move forward!
