It’s been awhile since I’ve written. I’ve been on a journey to seek God and find Him. I feared I would not be able to seek Him fully unless I cleared some clutter in my life. This clutter was both mentally and physically. I’ve cleaned out my closet, started my spring cleaning, and finished some projects that have been on my list for years. I took a little break from my regular routine and tried to focus on what I needed to do and be for God. Here’s what I’ve learned over the past month in my seeking and searching. I pray this might speak to you somehow.
- I want to have a heart like David. I’ve been reading about David for some time now in my personal Bible reading. He was a talented, gifted, and strong warrior for God; yet, he really messed up in certain areas of his life. Regardless, he continued to get back up and seek God after each time he sinned. I love reading the psalms he wrote while running away from others, like Saul and his own son, because there are many days I desire to run away from it all. I need to be reminded that even the great heroes of the Bible ran away and God still loved them.
- I want to honor the Sabbath. My Bible study group just finished Priscilla Shirer’s book Breathe. The quick rundown is to make breathing room in your life so you can honor the Sabbath. My favorite take away was the idea that God created the Sabbath during creation. The Sabbath rest didn’t just appear because God stopped working, He actually created the rest. Likewise, we must create rest and room to breathe in our schedules and daily lives to allow ourselves breathing space to glorify God.
- I want to always be in God’s will. Yes, I know, this might sound silly and so obvious to all of us. Follow me for a second here. I think as Christians, followers of Christ, we desire to be in God’s will. We desire…but, do we do what we desire? Take a quick second to evaluate how you spend your time. Are you content? Frustrated? Worried? Happy? Stressed? How does your daily life lived out bring glory to God? Are you engaging in behaviors or habits that you could stand to lose? We need to look at where we are and find out if our time is dictating that something is more important to us than God.
- I want to have a personal revival in my life. I purposefully took a break from blogging as I prayed for God to show me what to do for the next few months and years in my life. Sometimes I get so busy in doing the things I love and the things I feel God wants me to do that I need to take a small break, step back, and re-evaluate where He desires for me to go. In writing my first book on transparency, it was about getting to a closer relationship with God that would be strong enough to draw others to Him. If we desire and work on a closer relationship with God, our own personal revival, I believe that God will bless our efforts and bring revival to our land…one person at a time.
Would you please pray for me as I plan to finish my second book by the end of the year? I am praying for you, my friends, that God would so move in your lives that others will see the change and desire to have that same relationship with God. We need revival in our land and we need it to start in our own hearts.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Just what I needed to hear today!
Thank you. Glad to hear it spoke to you.
Susan, glad to hear from you again. Been missing your posts. They always speak to my heart. I was especially impressed, when you mentioned the reasons for your break. I am partly aware of your busy schedule and so many issues you deal with, yet, you wanted to draw closer to God and His will. This came about by studying God’s Word and prayer. You’re right on target!! Thanks for sharing your heart and helping me keep my priorities straight. This older lady has not arrived and won’t, until I enter Heaven! Love you…
