I’ve talked to several people these past few weeks and one thing they have in common is their reaction to life right now: “It’s just weird.” How is this possible? We are in the Christmas season, families are getting together, and yet something is just off. Many of you know I’ve faced health problems this past year and it’s been frustrating and tiring at the same time. Yet, God has proven Himself faithful with helping me get the book published and then miraculously healing my spinal fluid leak. Two opposite extremes. I went from tired to elated to sick to healed all in one year. What a roller coaster of emotions! So, as I step off of the ride of my life this year, I really don’t know how to describe it to you except to say, “It’s just weird.”
We are 21 days away from closing out 2013. What has your ride of 2013 looked like so far? Have you journeyed safely, or were there twists and turns you didn’t expect along the way? How many times did you travel uphill in anticipation only to seemingly fall quickly scared to death of what may come next? I have to constantly remember I am on the ride with God. He knows when the hills and drops are coming. He’s aware of when the ride twists and turns; even turning upside down. May we continue to press toward the prize He has set before us. Getting off of the ride will kill you! Staying on the ride may scare you half to death, but you’ll share the ride with the greatest God in the world. Ready for the ride of your life?
