Our family likes to play games. We play paper games like Sodoku and we put puzzles together. We play the video games and the board games. As we were playing a game together last night, the subject of New Years’ Resolutions came into our discussion. It was interesting to listen to the kids describe how they thought it was dumb to make the resolutions at the beginning of the year. “No one every keeps them,” one responded. Another said, “If they are all that important, why would you wait until the beginning of the year and not do it in July?”
What wisdom!
What is important to you? Are you blowing it off until the New Year so you don’t have to deal with it now? If so, is it really that important to you? Well, today is the day. Decide for yourself what you want in life and make it happen today. Take a small step if it can’t be completed all at once. Don’t wait 3 more months to change something in your life that you can do today.
Questions for Reflection: What are you putting off for tomorrow that you can do today?
