I have read two different books recently and want to share them with you today.  I found them to be effective and useful according to their different genres. I hope you will enjoy reading these books. I’ve included the links, as well.  Full Disclosure: Both books were given to me free of charge.

Dr. James R. Hicks has been in full-time ministry for over 35 years. He is currently the senior pastor in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Hicks believes small groups are vital to the development of Christians and wrote his dissertation on this very subject. Both in and out of the church setting, he has been asked about the general overview of the Bible. Realizing more and more people are needing a quick overview of the Bible to effectively study its contents, or frankly to see what it’s even all about, he came up with his book A Thumbnail Sketch of the Bible Story. Even though I have studied the Bible for years and attended church my entire life, there were topics I had forgotten. This book incorporates the Bible story and history in general. Rachelle Gardner is an agent with Books & Such Literary Agency and works with both fiction and non-fiction works. She has branched into the world of self-publishing with her e-book How Do I Decide? (Self-Publishing vs. Traditional Publishing).  As an agent in a more traditional setting, she is a valuable resource for those who are trying to decide what route is best for them.  She not only gives you a chart of the pros and cons of both, she digs further in and asks questions about a person’s personality and characteristics. This further digging allows for insight that might have been previously overlooked or not yet analyzed for a certain person and situation.
